Since its founding in the fall of 1991, Kol Dodi’s 60-voice ensemble has delighted audiences throughout the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area with stirring renditions of Jewish liturgical and popular pieces from Israel, America, Europe andbeyond, sung in Hebrew, English, Yiddish and Ladino. Under the direction of Cantors Erica Lippitz and Joel Caplan, Kol Dodi has performed in Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, at the Zamir Foundation’s annual North American Jewish Choral Festival, and at the Jerusalem Theater for the celebration of Jerusalem 3000. In carrying on the historic tradition of Jewish choral music, Kol Dodi frequently represents the Jewish community at both Jewish and ecumenical gatherings, and has drawn high praise from many synagogue groups and professional musicians.
